Mitred Tiling – A trend for rooms edges and corners

September 13, 2021

Mitering your tiles vs. Using a trim/angle? Which option is yours?

The higher end option for how to finish tiling on corners is to mitre the tiles. Many designers and homeowners prefer the popular mitered edges or corners, due to their sleek and seamless modern look. They will contribute to a SUBTLE LOOK FOR THE HOUSE.

This look is by far the best but more expensive (due to the extra time involved for the tiler to make cuts of the tiles and extra tiles needed).

Mitred tiling (or bevel cut) is a technique used to handle external corners or points with a cut at a 45-degree angle along the edge of the tile. This is to remove the underside and biscuit of the tiles. The two slabs can then be seamlessly joined together.

Mitred tiling is valued to be the best finish for laying external tile corners by professionals. In reality, it can be the only way to achieve a natural looking finish without detracting the view from the rest of the room.
